Books being displayed was found in libraries throughout Taiwan. Those books were opted for their relevance with the topic “People who were forced to changed their names, to abandon the identities they grew up with, to stay alive.” The act of searching and opting book itself attained the process of co-writing between 3 people that lost in time: Writer of the book, the unknown strangers who made notes from(possibly) decades ago, and the artist - It's the accumulated time and the aural object that established this co-write across space and time.
The Content of the notes are typed out through the self-typing keyboard and projected vertically (as how traditional Chinese books' layout) on the book, but through a Taiwanese specific encoding system, the phenomenon of failed to switching English into Chinese(zhuyin) instead typed out lots of inaccessible English Letters.
Ambivalence，中譯矛盾，但事實上此詞彙描述的是一種兩種事物碰撞於一塊，而產生出的的多重混亂，超越二元的矛盾狀態。
展台上擺放的書籍含括大範圍的主題：外省人、性工作者、白色恐怖、外籍勞工、甚至故宮南遷後來到台灣的古物。儘管題材廣泛，這些文本中卻皆存在著兩個共通點：一、他們皆關於在台灣歷史中,為了活下去而被迫拋棄自身過往、身份、或名字的人們；為了未來拋棄過去、為了擁有得先捨棄、為了自主經歷被迫。二、他們都擁有來自全台圖書館中，他人在書上留下的筆記與眉批。此作品使用那些筆記內容作為文本，透過一種僅屬於台灣人的編碼系統 — 鍵盤注音中英切換，投射在原本的文本上。
透過曾共同手持的書本，閱讀他人留下的筆記像是種橫越時間的親密溝通。消失在二三十年時間中，另一位個人的思考路徑，真切在乎的內容，在自己眼前一覽無遺，同時也聯想著：或許我們曾擦身而過。一開始創作者選定約 200 本書，在第一階段翻閱篩選是否符合作品題材，篩出 105 本，再帶著這份書單，至不同的圖書館廣泛搜索陌生人遺留在書中的筆記，共找到 42 本，最終憑著直覺與感受，選出攤在展台上的內容。作者、時間中的人、創作者，這本身是三人共筆的過程。
此作品使用創作者人生中的特定事件作為作品最底層的文本，一起討論過去、現在、未來、台灣主體性、匿名的人群、藏匿的狀態、身份、記憶、與言說。
