Co-Writing Plan: Liminal Space
2024
Books, Stationery
Where there are 'borders,' there is a centre, the concept categories things into binary oppositions. it helps us define our place in the world. Beneath this lies a landscape shaped by power-effective yet inherently insufficient. This work focuses on things and people that straddle borders, existing in liminal state, unclassifiable by either side. The piece features dozens of books curated around this theme, all borrowed from libraries with marginal notes written by others. Viewers are invited to add their own notes, thus turning the work into a collective, time-based process. By moving these books from the institutional library to the exhibition space, the work transforms/triggers reading experience from individual to collective. It challenges institutional narratives, and opening space for non-canonical histories.
